The Hakka are a Chinese ethnic group thought to have originated in the lands around the Yellow River in northern China. From there, they migrated to Southern China and to countries throughout the world. Their cuisine favors sweet flavors while disfavoring spiciness, and puts special emphasis on the texture. Stews and braises that leave you with tender meats are popular.

I wasn't able to find too many Hakka recipes online that I wanted to cook, but the ones I did were rather good.

Chinese cuisines I've explored so far: Cantonese, Chengdu, Chinese Muslim, Dai, Fujian, Ghizhou, Haipai, Hakka, Hangzhou, Hongkonese, Huaiyang, Hunan, Imperial China, Indo-Chinese, Jiangsu, Jiangxi
