Mint Julep is a simple cocktail of sweetened bourbon and ice flavored with fresh mint. It's the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby and forever associated with the race. The recipe below is very classic and very simple, it's quite good if you like bourbon (which I do not).
- leaves from 4-5 mint sprigs
- 2 sugar cubes or 2 tsp sugar
- 2 1/2 oz bourbon
- crushed ice
Put mint leaves and sugar at the bottom of a glass and muddle together. Add the bourbon. Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir until frothy.
