Sorbet à la mangue

Mango Sorbet

This is a pretty simple mango sorbet recipe and it's pretty good if you like mango sorbet. Personally, I overdosed on everything mango when I was a college student doing my year abroad in Egypt, so I'm enjoying this in small quantities. It's pretty yummy, though.

Mango Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 large ripe mangoes
  • juice of 1-2 limes

Directions

Place water and sugar together in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, reduce temperature and simmer until all the sugar dissolves. Let cool.

Peel and seed the mangoes. Puree the mango flesh. Add the sugar syrup and the lime juice and blend together until smooth. Pour into a bowl, cover and refrigerate until completely chilled.

Transfer mango puree to your ice cream maker and process according to instructions.
