There are some I&#8217;ve had since I got married, over a decade ago.  Granted, I&#8217;ve seldom if ever used them since (like fennel seeds, what do I need fennel seeds for?) but I figure if I do need them again, I can buy them anew. The list below are the spices I have &#8211; most in good quantities.  This way next time I come across a recipe that calls for something I can check it against this list rather than having to go through the whole rack.<br \/>\nBlack peppercorns<br \/>\nWhite peppercorns<br \/>\nPowdered Cayenne pepper<br \/>\nPiment d&#8217;espelette<br \/>\nGround chili de arbol<br \/>\nSweet paprika<br \/>\nChili powder<br \/>\nOregano<br \/>\nThyme<br \/>\nTarragon<br \/>\nRosemary<br \/>\nHerbs d&#8217;provence<br \/>\nGround sweet basil<br \/>\nSaffron threads<br \/>\nBay leaves<br \/>\nTurmeric<br \/>\nGround allspice<br \/>\nGround cumin<br \/>\nMustard seeds<br \/>\nCurry powder<br \/>\nMustard powder<br \/>\nGround ginger<br \/>\nCinnamon sticks<br \/>\nGround cinnamon<br \/>\nGround cloves<br \/>\nNutmeg pods<br \/>\nThese are spices I probably should buy to replace the ones I threw away.  Any other suggestions:<br \/>\n-Red pepper flakes<br \/>\n-Ground black pepper (for when I don&#8217;t have time to grind enough)<br \/>\n-Allspice berries<br \/>\n-Cloves<br \/>\n-Regular paprika<br \/>\n-Hot paprika<br \/>\n-Garlic powder<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m cleaning up my spice rack, throwing away old spices.
