{"id":1608,"date":"2015-04-04T21:54:49","date_gmt":"2015-04-04T13:54:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marga.org\/foodblog\/?p=1608"},"modified":"2015-04-04T21:54:49","modified_gmt":"2015-04-04T13:54:49","slug":"tiparos-thai-food-review-fairbanks-ak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marga.org\/foodblog\/2015\/04\/tiparos-thai-food-review-fairbanks-ak\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiparos Thai Food Review &#8211; Fairbanks, AK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We went to <strong>Tiparos<\/strong> for dinner our first day in Fairbanks, in March 2015.\u00a0 It was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, who had heard it was the best Thai place in town.\u00a0 I only tried one other Thai restaurant, but I liked Tiparos better.<\/p>\n<p>Tiparos is a humble place, it has a third worldly look to it with decorations thrown into the walls rather than carefully arranged. When we went there for dinner, perhaps before the dinner rush, the place was pretty empty but for some kids belonging to those who worked there.\u00a0 Despite that, service wasn&#8217;t particularly attentive &#8211; it took a while for the waitress to take our orders and later bring us the bill.\u00a0 She was very nice, however.<\/p>\n<p>The food is what matters, however, and Tiparos it was very good.\u00a0 Los Angeles level good (which is saying a lot as LA has uniformly good Thai restaurants, unlike the Bay Area where I live).<\/p>\n<p>I had the yellow curry with beef, and very much enjoyed the rich and fragrant curry.\u00a0 Mike had the panang curry with chicken and was just as delighted.\u00a0 Mika had the pad thai, and she gave it her stamp of approval while Camila had the chicken satay.\u00a0 That one was probably the least successful dish, I think the chicken needed more flavor.<\/p>\n<p>I doubt I&#8217;ll return to Fairbanks, but if I did I&#8217;d have dinner there again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tiparos Thai Food<\/strong><br \/>\n404 Lacey St.<br \/>\nFairbanks AK<br \/>\n(907) 455-8424<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/tiparos.webs.com\">http:\/\/tiparos.webs.com<\/a><br \/>\nMon-Fri: 11am-9pm<br \/>\nSun: 12pm-8pm<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marga.org\/food\/rest\/other\/\">Marga&#8217;s Restaurant Reviews: Outside the Bay Area<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We went to Tiparos for dinner our first day in Fairbanks, in March 2015.\u00a0 It was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, who had heard it was the best Thai place in town.\u00a0 I only tried one other Thai restaurant, but I liked Tiparos better.
