Easy and delicious.\u00a0 Actually, more like satisfying and addictive.\u00a0 It tastes good warm and cold, so it&#8217;s perfect for a holiday buffet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apple, Onion and Bacon Pie <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 oz bacon, coarsely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 or 3 apples, thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li>salt &amp; sugar to taste<\/li>\n<li>2 9&#8243; pie shells<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Directions<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cook bacon over medium heat in a deep frying pan until crispy.\u00a0 Using a slotted spoon, remove bacon bits and set aside.\u00a0 Pour out all but 1 Tbsp. grease from the pan and reserve.\u00a0 Add the onion slices and cook until soft, stirring occasionally.\u00a0 Add the apple slices and cook until soft.\u00a0 Return the bacon to the pan and mix.\u00a0 Taste and add salt and sugar as needed.\u00a0 Set aside to cool.<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 400F (or the temperature indicated by your pie shell recipe).<\/p>\n<p>Put the pie shell into your pie pan and press tightly.\u00a0 Add the cooled filling.\u00a0 Top with the other pie shell, sealing the borders with the bottom shell.
