Beef in Cumin Sauce

I was a little hesitant about trying this recipe, but I didn't find that many CAR recipes that appealed to me. I was a little bit afraid that the cumin taste would be overwhelming, but that didn't end up being the case. However, I didn't think this recipe was all that great, and I don't think I'd make it again. I followed the recipe pretty closely, though I didn't add the cayenne pepper as my kids don't like spicy food. I also browned the meat prior to boiling it.

Beef in Cumin Sauce

In a large pot, brown the meat on the oil. Remove meat and drain and discard the oil. Return meat to the pot and cover with one inch of water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer.

Meanwhile, combine all the other ingredients in a medium-size pot. Bring to a slow boil, and remove from heat. Add the sauce to the meat and simmer until meat is done. Uncover and reduce the sauce to a consistency you like. ce to the meat. Simmer until meat is done, and then simmer some more.
