Peaches in wine sauce are a very common dessert dish in Aragon, a region famed for the quality of its peaches. They are truely delicious, even my husband who was skeptical about them, ended up liking them. Try to use ripe peaches.
Melocotón con Vino
Ingredients
4 large peaches, skinned 2 cups sugar 2 cups water 1 stick cinnamon 1 slice lemon sprinkle of salt 2 cups dry red wine Instructions
Combine sugar, water, cinnamon, lemon and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool. Mix wine with the syrup and pour over the peaches, making sure they are all covered. Refrigerate for up to 2 days and serve.
