Banana den Forno

(Baked Bananas)

I've eaten and cooked bananas in several ways, but this method of boiling and then baking bananas was new to me. It was very good, however, and I think I might make it again. My only hesitation is that it uses too much cinnamon and vanilla essence, which can be expensive if you only buy the small containers. In any case, I think this recipe provides too much syrup for the bananas, so you may want to either halve the syrup ingredients or double the number of bananas.

As recommended in the original recipe, this dish goes very well with ice cream (I used vanilla).

Put the bananas and syrup in a baking dish and bake in a 275° oven for 10 minutes.

    Serve with ice cream.
