Make sure you've got some time to kill if you order Safeway.com. Me and my wife tried it about a month ago and they never showed. Phone calls to them yielded nothing. No apology, no "Sorry, can we reschedule". they just never showed and never indicated why not.

I've used Safeway.com several times (like maybe 20-30) and have received excellent service each time (the newest driver even remembers that I have dogs). I've also had him call me if he was running early so that he could check if I was home so he could deliver early. And I've only once had the delivery be an hour after the delivery time. I would guess the delivery time depends on how close you are to the store too.
I have had a couple drivers thank me for the detailed instructions I put in the comments section so they knew what color my house was and where I wanted them to deliver my groceries (many people think my garage is my house).

Posted by: dimo at October 3, 2005 10:11 PMI have used Safeway.com a few times and they have been great-- showing up early (they called first) and very friendly. the only problem I encountered was that they forgot an item or mischarged for the item, but I called them and they refunded or credited my bill so it was fine. I definitely would use them again!

But hey...I would pay somebodey 8 - 10 dollars to do my shopping for me. Mostly because I have 2 small kids. (but also my wage per hour,gas, hassle) I just dont let others pick out my fresh fruit and veggies....I'll go to the produce stand later :)
